All About This Company

Aztec Forestry Transport Developments Ltd has a 100 plus-strong fleet made up of sub-contractrors.

The fleet is made up of a mix of American, European and Japanese trucks and around 50% of the fleet are five axle trailers. The weight configurations vary from the standard 45 ton units through to 54 ton permitted units.

Aztec came about as a result of three experienced owner operators joining forces to create a logging transport solution as key suppliers for Carter Holt Harvey's milling operations in the North Island of New Zealand.

The company has grown significantly since starting with just four trucks when it was formed in 1998. Today Aztec has more than a dozen large clients and its driver base continues to grow.

Tania Dickinson - Health & Safety Co-ordinator

Tania joined Aztec mid 2019 and has brought a lot of experience from her previous role as a manager at Bid-food.  Not scared to think outside the box she has introduced some much needed technological changes in the way Aztec runs its Health and Safety during her time at here so far.

Garry Stewart - Operations (Central/Hauraki)

Garry rejoined Aztec as the Central Operations Manager in February 2018. Having previously worked in this role with Aztec for 9+ years, he returns with valuable industry knowledge and management skills. For the past 3 years Garry has worked in the Information Technology sector, so will be bringing this new skill set into the business.

Keiran Whittington - Transport Manager

Keiran Whittington, who joined Aztec in the Central region in 2015, comes from a log truck driver background. Keiran was the dispatch/planner for Aztec in the central/Hauraki region for just under 4 years before taking on the role of Transport Manager working out of both our northland office at Ruakaka and the Rotorua office overseeing the fleet of trucks working for Aztec.

This gives him plenty of knowledge and experience to over see the dispatch operation.
Keiran can be found out in the field checking in with crews for roading issues and doing pre-opp hazard ID's when first starting a forest to get things correct from day one for the trucks.

Allan Gibbons- Planner/Dispatcher (Central/Hauraki)

Allan Gibbons has joined Aztec in the central region in 2019, Allan comes from a back ground in dispatching and  is enjoying the variety he has dispatching the Aztec central fleet from the Rotorua office which the trucks cover the area from Auckland to Taumarunui and everywhere between.
